Another Adventure Time post…

…Am I the only one who isn’t a fan of realistic Finn (or any AT character)? Turning Finn, Fionna, Jake, Marceline, Simon, et al, into “realistic” drawings doesn’t do it for me. It seems like a big plop on Ward’s work. A big part of the Adventure Time universe is the mutations brought about by the bomb. Note: the Minus Lich Universe characters. They have noses. They are more human than any character in the Land of Oo. Realistic AdTime characters suck.

…Reading the comments in the i09 recap of the Adventure Time season premiere. So many well-aimed arrows missing the mark. When Finn wished the Lich never existed, he created an alternate timeline where the Ice King died preventing the bomb from detonating. The Mushroom War was ended before the apocalypse could be brought about. Unfortunately, an ice age was the trade off.

Marceline being a 1,000 year old spinster was the fact that she wasn’t tossed aside by Simon (because of the wish). When Simon leaves her, she’s still a child. Vampires don’t age. She was and still is half-demon. When she becomes a vampire (teen years, after Simon leaves her), she stops aging. Her half-demon genes (Hunson) slows her aging down in this reality.

The Lich is a direct result from the fallout of the last bomb. Proof being that Jake the Dog dog mutates into a Jake the Lich. Finn’s wish that the Lich never existed meant he prevented the Mushroom War from climaxing. No fallout means no Lich. 

Questions: Who turns into the Lich? How and when does Marceline become a vampire? If Finn has parents in the AU, where does he come from in the set timeline?

Last side note: Anyone else notice the facial features in the Minus Lich Universe? Finn lacks his normal array of wacky facial expressions. Curiouser and curiouser.
